Buying a home might seem like a scary and stressful experience, but we’re here to help make process easy and stress-free!

Connecting with our lender is the first step on your path to home ownership. You don’t have to get pre-approved immediately, but having a conversation so you can discuss your goals and see estimates and get a rough idea of what your budget will look like is very important. This is a good step to take even if you’re months away from making a move, because it will allow you to discover any challenges you need to address, as well as learn about “dos and don’ts” you’ll want to stick to in the months leading up to completing a mortgage application. Once you have an idea about your budget, it’s time to talk to an agent. This is where you can have an initial discussion about your wants and needs in a new home, get set up on an MLS search so you’re seeing properties that align with your priorities, and get market data that will help you in your home search. If you haven’t already, now is the time to get pre-approved for a mortgage. This involves a quick online application, sending in some preliminary documents for the lender to review, and getting that all-important pre-approval letter. Once you have that letter, you’ll be ready to start make offers. Learn about loan options.

Stay connected with both your Realtor and lender, and get updated estimates on interesting properties before you make an offer. Your Realtor will guide you through the offer and negotiation process, and our lender will keep you informed on how your offer will impact the figures in your mortgage. After you are under contract on your new home, it’s time for a home inspection and appraisal. You can find a list of home inspectors that other clients have used in our business directory. This is a crucial step, don’t skip a home inspection! Your lender will order the appraisal where an appraiser will determine the value of the home.

Once you’re under contract on a home, you’ll need to complete the mortgage approval process. Our lender will guide you through this part of your journey, step by step. 

Your experienced agent and lender will guide you through the closing process. Once you are closed, you will be the owner of your new home, congratulations!
